Qfin 4 Heat Sink Design and Analysis Software

Chinese Version Qfin4

Applied Thermal Technologies serves as US distributor of Qfin 4 software. Please contact us for a free trial version and electronic software download instructions or if you may have any other related questions.

With the release of Qfin 4.0, Qfinsoft Technology Inc has upgraded the capabilities of the software to include more advanced heat sinks, heat pipes and cooling with a large number of fluids. The latest version of Qfin can also be used as a design tool for complex system level applications with typical results in minutes.

QFin is extremely easy to use and includes a step-by-step overview and comprehensive help to get you up and running in minutes. A powerful search engine finds the best heat sinks in the built-in database based on your physical and thermal criteria. Selecting and designing heat sinks, as well as placing components and viewing results are all done visually using the mouse. QFin's advanced solver is optimized to find solutions quickly for even the most complex cases. QFin can automatically optimize the design of a particular heat sink within specified physical boundaries.

Qfin4 Example Applications
Qfin has been validated comprehensively against both experimental and CFD results. Qfin allows direct export into Icepak to automatiucally create corresponding Icepak models.

Natural Convection

Takes into account radiation, gravity, bouyancy, viscous fluid interaction, and compressibility.

High Density Heat Sink

Qfin easily handles heat sinks with lots of fins and high power cases.

Swaged Fin Heat Sink

Heat sink base can be a different material from the fins, e.g. copper.

Stacked Fin Heat Sink

Vertically stacked fins with embedded heat pipes.

Cold Plate

Liquid cooled cold plate with complex embedded fluid path.

LED Assembly

Layered LED assembly with heat sink.
